The collection is inspired by The Sacred Book of the Werewolf, a novel by Viktor Pelevin. It pays homage to the central character, the enigmatic Chinese fox A Huli, blending the world of literature with fashion. The pieces feature bold, direct quotes and layered “references to references” that mirror Pelevin’s distinctive narrative style. A beautiful story of love and transformation unfolds through the visual and material expression of this collection.

This collection is very personal, rooted in nostalgia and the reflections of an émigré far from home. It draws on the art of Symbolist painter Victor Borisov-Musatov, whose work evokes ghosts of memory, soft haze, and a longing for moments that never were. The collection also explores the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries — a time that overlapped with the first wave of emigration in Russia, echoed again in 1922. OTASI translates these influences into a pale color palette, period-inspired silhouettes, delicate lace, and intricate lacing details, capturing a sense of longing, reflection, and the subtle poetry of memory.
